Open trajectories

چکیده
It is proven that an initial value problem of an autonomous system verifying some conditions has exactly one open continuously dierentiable trajectory on R, whose limit set is not one point. The proof of the result is based upon continuation methods. 1. Preliminaries Dierential equations play a key role in nature and technology because they control their processes. In time-dependent processes a particular solution of an ordinary dierential equation system can go up to in®nity while time tends towards a ®nite number. Such dangerous eects where the process breaks down after a ®nite time are called blowing-up eects. The reason can be that the system loses too much of its initial energy by dissipation or that it is unstable. Engineers are interested in avoiding such eects. Therefore it is interesting to know the behaviour of the solution of such a system, when its variable is large enough. This variable can be considered to be time. In this paper priory estimates are given to prove that an initial value problem of an autonomous ordinary dierential equation system has a global open continuously dierentiable solution, whose limit sets are not one point. Priory conditions are

متن کاملMeasuring the Similarity of Trajectories Using Fuzzy Theory
In recent years, with the advancement of positioning systems, access to a large amount of movement data is provided. Among the methods of discovering knowledge from this type of data is to measure the similarity of trajectories resulting from the movement of objects. Similarity measurement has also been used in other data mining methods such as classification and clustering and is currently, an...
متن کاملCorrelations for pairs of periodic trajectories for open billiards
In this paper we prove two asymptotic estimates for pairs of closed trajectories for open billiards similar to those established by Pollicott and Sharp [PoS2] for closed geodesics on negatively curved compact surfaces. The first of these estimates holds for general open billiards in any dimension. The more intricate second estimate is established for open billiards satisfying the so called Dolg...
متن کاملQuantum Particle-Trajectories and Geometric Phase
“Particle”-trajectories are defined as integrable dxμdp μ = 0 paths in projective space. Quantum states evoluting on such trajectories, open or closed, do not delocalise in (x, p) projection, the phase associated to the trajectories being related to the previously known geometric (Berry) phase and to the Classical Mechanics action. High Energy Physics properties of states evoluting on “particle...
متن کاملSome open problems
We discuss some challenging open problems in the geometric control theory and sub-Riemannian geometry. It is getting harder to prove theorems and easier to force other people to prove them when you are sixty. Some colleagues asked me to describe interesting open problems in geometric control and sub-Riemannian geometry. Here I list few really challenging problems; some of them are open for a lo...
متن کاملv 1 2 6 A ug 1 99 6 From quantum trajectories to classical orbits
Recently it has been shown that the evolution of open quantum systems may be " unraveled " into individual " trajectories, " providing powerful numerical and conceptual tools. In this letter we use quantum trajectories to study mesoscopic systems and their classical limit. We show that in this limit, Quantum Jump (QJ) trajectories approach a diffusive limit very similar to the Quantum State Dif...
